Assignment 3

Although i didnt get to watched much of the movie. I was able to pick up that in that society the necessity for a woman or girl to be married to someone with money or good social standings was great. It didnt matter what she wanted or if she happened to be in love with someone else. The parents of the daughters just want them to have money and have good social standings it didnt even matter if who they happened to be getting married off to was a member of their own family. I dont agree with how the ladies of that time period was treated but to them it just seemed like another day which blows my mind. I couldnt imagine being forced to marry some one i didnt want to or being told that i could do this or that just because i was a girl. Im so glad that times have changed. Even today their are still parents and people who will marry off for money. So i guess i could say that things have changed but not completely.
