Assignment 2
I decided to write about sir Thomas more who was born on Feb 7Th 1478. its amazing that these people could be born so long ago and that we still remember them for what they did, like sir Thomas was remembered for being a prolific scholar and literary man. His writing and scholarship earned him a great reputation as a Christian renaissance humanist in continental Europe. Even while he was busy studying and trying to further his career he still had time to marry and have four children (three daughters and a son). the woman he really wanted to marry was his wife’s younger sister but he didn’t want her to be embarrassed by her younger sister being married first sooooo he married Jane colt who was ten years his junior. i think that since he married her out of respect and genuinely cared for how she was viewed was very rare in those days and is an admirable quality.
renaissance man (woman)
my renaissance man or woman would have to be Oprah! After a troubled adolescence in a small farming community, where she was sexually abused by a number of male relatives and friends of her mother she moved to Nashville to live with her father. She entered Tennessee State University in 1971 and began working in radio and television broadcasting in Nashville. She is an all around kind of person she has her own tv show, she acts and she actually cares about the well being of people. Which is exhibited in all the charity work she does for the children of Africa.
